Since 1981, the Agora has hosted the Montpellier Danse festival, which has become an international benchmark, combining global influence with local roots thanks to its training programs and ecosystem based on uniqueness, inclusivity, and high standards. Heir to the Greek agora, it now embodies unity and sharing, transforming its past as a prison into a symbol of freedom. Its historic architecture houses performance halls, training and learning spaces for contemporary dance, making this lively venue, rooted in its history but looking to the future, a unique space dedicated to the transmission and emergence of the dance of tomorrow.
